In case you're wondering, my Home Exchange apartment in Dubrovnik was:
- 2 Bedroom/2 Bath
- 2 floor walk-up
- Smack dab in the heart of the Old Town
- King bed (VERY rare), plus 4 singles
- Big living room and kitchen
...and it all cost me....
ZILCH
HUH??? That's because I 'paid' for it with points I had accumulated on HE. So, my only cost was just getting there and whatever I spent on food and entertainment. Cool, eh?
When walking Stradun, I noticed a cute Santa ornament in a store window and decided I want to get it. The next day, I went to the store and asked the lady how much it was. She informed me it wasn't for sale...that it was part of the stores' holiday decorations. DAMN!!! I told her how I had seen it the day before, that my Mom, who passed away last year, collected Santas (especially Mr/Mrs Claus salt/pepper shakers). She then said she wanted to GIVE it to me!!! Noooooooo!!!! She insisted, but I insisted on purchasing something as a thank you. I purchased two champagne glasses painted by a local artist.
